Zach and Meg's destination wedding at the historic Beaufort House epitomised the charm of an intimate celebration rooted deeply in family heritage and personal history. Originating from Portland, Oregon, this couple traversed over 18 hours, drawn by an inexplicable connection to Ireland—Meg's ancestral home and a place they had both come to cherish during her semester studying abroad in Galway. Their love for Ireland, with its rich cultural tapestry and breathtaking landscapes, made their choice of wedding location both meaningful and magical.
Originally, a wedding abroad was not on the cards for Zach and Meg. The idea blossomed organically when Zach visited Meg during her studies; there was a spontaneous, heartfelt decision that celebrating their union in Ireland just felt right. Choosing Beaufort House as their venue enriched this experience further. Nestled in the lush landscapes of Co. Kerry, Beaufort House is a stunning country house dating back to the 18th century. The property, crafted in 1760 by the De Moleyns family—earls of Ventry—has been meticulously renovated to marry its historical grandeur with the luxuries modern travellers expect.
For their wedding theme, Meg drew inspiration from the opulent and dramatic style of Dutch Master paintings. The dark, cosy interiors of Beaufort House complemented this motif perfectly, creating a rich, artistic backdrop that reflected the depth of the couple's vision. The colours and textures of their décor wove a narrative that resonated with the romantic and historic essence of their surroundings, making every moment of their special day feel as if it were lifted from a classic painting.
This wedding was not just a celebration of Zach and Meg's love but also an homage to their deep-rooted connection to Ireland—a truly enchanting destination wedding that brought their dream day to life against the backdrop of Irish elegance and historical beauty.
